Friends of the Olde Everett Train Station

Who We Are

The Friends of the Olde Everett Train Station is a community project which relies on volunteers to provide simple landscaping needs: planting, weeding, watering and general maintenance of a small pocket park. We work on weekdays or weekends a few hours at a time. Work parties are formed two or three times a year for spring planting and fall cleanup. The Depot Park has been a wonderful opportunity to provide the community with a beautiful garden and scenic waterfront view. Depot Park has been a work in progress since 1997. It was an abandoned rectangular piece of property overrun with weeds. Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad has partnered with us to provide an opportunity to develop a community park. Over the years, brick paving, park benches, flowering cherry trees, rose and dahlia gardens were added to enhance the beauty of the area. A gazebo in the shape of a Great Northern railroad caboose was built at the south end of the park to provide a seating and viewing area of the waterfront. A picnic table was added to give visitors a place to eat. Our current project, the installation of a sprinkler system is almost complete. This will allow us to water the plants and flowers more easily. Work continues on the east bank to provide native plants and ground cover to prevent erosion of the bank. Depot Park is a ongoing work of love and enjoyed by all those who visit.

What We Do

The mission of the Friends of the Olde Everett Train Station is to preserve a historical area and to provide the community with a beautiful park and port of entry for train travelers.
